The Role. 

GMC are currently looking for an experienced Gas Fitter Supervisor to join our team to cover the South East Region.


The successful Gas Fitter Supervisor will be working on the GNI maintenance contract on delivery of ongoing metering, siteworks and customer/shipper related activities. The successful Gas Fitter Supervisor will need to be available for emergency first response duties as per agreed rota.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

Supervision and Leadership: 

  • Oversee a team of GAS Fitters, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work. 
  • Coordinate and schedule daily work activities and assignments for GAS Fitters. 
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project progress, address concerns, and provide updates on new policies or procedures. 

Quality Control: 

  • Ensure all installations, maintenance, and repairs of gas appliances and pipework are completed safely and accurately. 
  • Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure adherence to safety standards and company protocols. 
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures as needed. 

Safety and Compliance: 

  • Enforce adherence to all relevant safety regulations and company policies. 
  • Ensure that all GAS Fitters maintain up-to-date G.I.D / D.G.A. qualifications. 
  • Conduct safety training sessions and ensure that all team members are aware of best practices and safety procedures. 

Technical Expertise: 

  • Assist with complex installations, maintenance, and repairs as needed. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to team members. 
  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices. 

Customer Service: 

  • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Ensure that all customer interactions by the team meet the company's high standards for service. 
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues to satisfaction. 

Administrative Tasks: 

  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed by the team, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary. 
  • Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and any incidents or issues encountered. 
  • Required Experience and Competencies 

 

The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies: 

Qualifications: 

  • Full clean driver's license. 
  • Up-to-date G.I.D / D.G.A. qualifications. 


Experience: 

  • Extensive experience in gas installations, maintenance, and repair. 
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable. 


Skills: 

  • High attention to detail to ensure all work is completed safely and accurately. 
  • Excellent time management abilities to meet strict deadlines. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy. 
  • Confident, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
