The Royal Marine Hotel is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Hotel Duty Manager to join our management team.

Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Duty Manager will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day running of the hotel, supporting Heads of Department and ensuring the highest standards of service across all areas.

We are looking for a confident, hands-on individual with strong interpersonal skills, drive and ambition. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of making decisions and thinking on their feet in a fast-paced environment.

A solid understanding of hotel operations is essential, especially in food and beverage, along with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a wider team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the hotel

Ensure all service and quality standards are consistently met

Anticipate guest needs and proactively manage expectations

Support all departments in delivering exceptional guest experiences

Maintain a strong working knowledge of all hotel departments

Assist Heads of Department in managing and supervising teams

Handle guest queries and issues efficiently, ensuring they are resolved to a high standard

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and hotel policies

Experience & Qualifications

Strong experience in Front Office and Food & Beverage operations

Experience with Hotsoft or similar hospitality systems

Knowledge of cash handling and basic accounting procedures

Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, early mornings and weekends

Hospitality or management qualification (desirable)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong commercial awareness
