This is a strategic requirement for an experienced Bid Manager, working with a Tier 1 Civil Engineering contractor.
They are looking to appoint an experienced individual to focus on Major Projects within Highways, Rail, Energy & Marine.

Based out of the regional office in Manchester, the role is within the Civils / Infrastructure Division and there is an opportunity to lead and manage a UK wide team who is responsible for the successful delivery of Bids with leading clients across their Civil Engineering client portfolio.

The Requirements

Strong stakeholder management skills are also key to successfully delivering a successful Bid and in maintaining a good network of clients.

* A relevant degree in Engineering (Civil) or a related discipline
* Strong Commercial and Project Management experience relating to preparing a Bid
* A good understanding of engineering design principals, construction techniques and the tender process
* Experience writing and preparing Proposals and Quality Submissions
* Strong and effective communication skills and the ability to be able to lead and influence within your own Group and with external stakeholders

They already have a very strong portfolio of clients and proven success delivering high profile projects across the Civil Engineering sector throughout the UK.

The Role:
They are looking to attract a Bid Manager capable of taking a lead role in the delivery of major Bids, due to the nature of the projects you must have a strong Technical/Engineering background and a proven track record preparing and presenting high quality Bid documents, which include full commercial costings and take into consideration statutory compliance, in-house capability, resource planning and key stakeholder engagement, all of which will be evaluated as part of the overall tender.
To be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate a successful track record within bidding (and proposals if possible).

We are particularly looking for a very experienced individual who can offer the gravitas required for this position. Someone who can write well, manage Design & Build and who can win both large and small projects. This might be a big as, however, if you possess these skills, you will be generously rewarded.

Essential to this position is a background within the Civil Engineering Industry.
