Project Manager – IP / Cisco solution roll out

Belfast, Northern Ireland

£55,000 to £60,000 per year

The Opportunity: I am looking for a Project Manager with experience of deploying enterprise telecom or IP (Cisco) networks for an international systems integrator. You will have responsibility for the management, performance and completion of single or multiple projects up to £5M, assuring projects are completed within budget, schedule, contract requirements and growth of the base contract. Experience of working with public sector clients and stakeholders is preferred for this role.

Skills and Experience:

  • Managing, building and motivating teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
  • Proven experience managing programs and dossiers of multi-phase projects
  • Strong working knowledge of business management best practices (proposals and plans)
  • Excellent listening skills with an ability to communicate with professionals in various disciplines inside, outside, and between collaborating organisations
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills both verbally and in writing with customers, subcontractors and vendors, and to ability to lead employees across all departments
  • Ability to travel as needed by individual project requirements
  • MSP, PRINCE2 (or equivalent qualifications) are desirable

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the client to provide advice and recommendations to ensure the required upgrades to software systems and IP network are implemented
  • Manage, oversee, monitor and approve all elements of assigned projects from inception to completion, including proposal development, product design, procurement, subcontracting, manufacturing, testing, delivery, installation and acceptance of products
  • Review and approve technical approach, feasibility and cost estimates for projects, working with business support functions to prepare compelling proposals to our client
  • Plan and direct the integration of project team members across sites in Belfast and Scotland, representing various functional areas within the company, managing resource availability for projects across a matrix organization. Regular travel to other sites will be a requirement of this role
  • Work closely with the Service Operations Manager, providing cover for annual leave and build a strong customer relationship based on proven results
  • Ensure the wider business is provided with regular progress reports and success stories and shares best practice and lessons learned from allocated projects
  • Manage commercial provisions with customer, alongside contracts administrator
  • Responsible for change control, including negotiation of project change
