Production Manager - EMS Business Unit

Our client a fast growing SME electronics business are looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer with Operations management experience.  Our client manufactures and assembles a variety of low to medium volume PCB’s and electronic devices on behalf of their customers operating in the cleantech/green tech and high reliability sector. 

There is currently an open position for a dynamic and  ambitious EMS Business Unit Production Manager with a strong background in quality and business process improvement to manage and  oversee the daily operations of our EMS business unit and ensure the efficiency and efficacy of all processes and procedures, The position requires hands on attitude and  good communication, interpersonal and project management skills to effectively coordinate activities and grow the division. A solid understanding of Electronic Engineering and the application of quality standards is required. The position also has responsibility for new product introduction (NPI)

 The Role:

  • Manage the day to day operations of Electronic Manufacturing Division
  • Liaise with customer and plan weekly production
  • Improve operational efficiency by analysing and planning work flow and be responsible for process improvements.
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets
  • Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel
  • Plan and manage resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Enforce health and safety procedures
  • Ensure output meets quality standards
  • Assist with the production of first runs and provide feedback to customers on design changes to improve manufacturing.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests from customers
  • Provide technical support to sales department and attend sales meetings with customers

The ideal candidate will have 

  • Bachelors degree in electronic engineering (Level 7 considered)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Electronic manufacturing environment or equivalent
  • Strong leadership skills and supervisory/management experience
