Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor Job profile:
A leading M&E Contractor are seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Frankfurt to work a large data centre construction project.
This top-10 contractor is well-known for prioritising the continued professional development of their staff both financially and by providing best-in-class training. This is an excellent opportunity to join an ever-growing contractor working in some fantastic, specialised sectors.
This position is offered on a rotation basis with two weeks spent in-country and a long weekend back at home.
Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor specification
The following will be required of the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor:
- Quantity Surveying or relevant Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, etc.)
- 4+ years' post-grad experience in Quantity Surveying
- A background in a trade (Electrician, Pipe Fitter, Plumber, etc.) would be advantageous
- Prior experience working on data centre or pharmaceutical construction projects would be advantageous
Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor Key activities
The successful Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure compliance with contract obligations
- Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management.
- Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, dayworks or claims
- Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
- Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account.
- Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
- Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
- Identify, Analyse, and report on trends within the Business & Projects
- Provide Data and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management.
- Improve and implement best practice commercial processes and accurate budgeting
- Ensure compliance with Contract Programme /Schedule and provide weekly reports to construction team on planned versus actual progress
- Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
- To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor Personal Skills and Qualifications relevant to the Role
The successful Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor will possess the following:
- Quantity Surveying or relevant Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, etc.)
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team
- Excellent IT Skills essential
- Excellent communication and organisation skills essential
